Hey, guess what? The price of gold in Pakistan went up for the fourth time this week, landing at Rs. 216,800 per tola on Friday.

According to the Karachi Sarafa Association, 24-carat gold saw a jump of Rs. 1,100 per tola, reaching Rs. 216,800, while the price for 10 grams increased by Rs. 943 to Rs. 185,871.

This is the second consecutive increase after a dip of Rs. 1,100 per tola on Wednesday.

Earlier in the week, gold went up by Rs. 700 per tola on Monday, followed by a smaller increase of Rs. 100 per tola on Tuesday. And just yesterday, it rose by Rs. 900 per tola.

In the global market, spot gold saw a 0.1 percent increase to $2,046.09 per ounce, while US gold futures stayed flat at $2,054.60.

Now, here's the thing: the price of gold here depends a lot on the Rupee-Dollar exchange rate and international gold prices. Since the exchange rate has been pretty steady lately, most of the ups and downs we're seeing are because of changes in global gold prices.
