Oppo Unveils Watch X, Essentially a Rebranded OnePlus Watch 2

Same Watch, Different Name: Oppo Watch X Mirrors OnePlus Watch 2

So, it seems like OnePlus and Oppo, being siblings in the tech world, often share their cool stuff. The newest shared gadget? The Oppo Watch X, which just got announced a few days back, is basically a rebranded OnePlus Watch 2.

Now, what's interesting is that the Oppo Watch X is pretty much the same as the OnePlus Watch 2, not just in looks but also in what's under the hood. It runs on Google Wear OS 4, handling all the heavy lifting with its dual systems. Meanwhile, a separate real-time operating system (RTOS) takes care of stuff like tracking your activities and health.

With the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset and the BES 2700BP co-processor combo, the Watch X is pretty powerful. Plus, it's got 2 GB of RAM and a hefty 32 GB of storage.

The display is a round 1.43-inch AMOLED one, refreshing at 60Hz. And the battery? It's a 500 mAh one, with Oppo claiming it can last up to 100 hours in regular mode and stretch out to 12 days in power-saving mode.

Now, here's the cool part: VOOC Flash charging tech! This thing can juice up enough power for a whole day in just 10 minutes of charging. And if you've got a bit more time, a full charge from 0 to 100% takes just 60 minutes.

Connectivity-wise, it's got everything you'd need: dual-band GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC – the works. Plus, it's IP68 rated and can handle being submerged up to 5ATM. It's even passed 16 MIL-STD-810H durability tests, so it's tough as nails.

You can grab the Oppo Watch X in Platinum Black or Mars Brown colors for about $295 in Malaysia. Sales start on March 2, and while folks are eager for it to hit more markets, we're waiting on confirmation from Oppo about that.
